0 to 1,000 followers in 30 days. Can I do it?
GM. I am excited to bring you this week’s edition.
On Tuesday, I started a personal challenge to grow a brand new account from 0 to 1k in 30 days.
Much of my content revolves around growth strategies, and I thought it would be a great case study and challenge me to walk the walk.
For each of the next four weeks, I will give you an update, a breakdown of my strategies, and some thoughts.

0 to 1,000 followers: Challenge Breakdown
The biggest pain point people discuss is growing their first 1,000 followers. It’s the hardest because you lack experience. So let’s try to show it can be done.
For the disclaimer, I will keep the account anonymous and won’t do any engagement farming for impressions.
Let me Breakdown down Day 1.
Account setup: I used an account created a while ago but never used it. That means no Twitter Blue or Checkmark. I will experience Twitter in slow mode, with limited reach.
Bio: Keep it simple, I am supposed to be new to NFTs, so I just said I am learning web3 and sharing along the way.
PFP: I bought an NFT for my PFP. It is affordable at 0.05 Eth and has a strong community for the price. When starting, you need to become part of a lively community to get your first few friends and followers.
Content: I created a character in MidJourney, and it will be a story through my GMs; I have made about 15 different “drawings”, which I will post every morning.
For the rest of the content, I will be talking from a novice point of view, as if I was new to web3. I think it will be a more accurate test.
My initial strategy is simple.
I bought the NFT, changed my PFP, tweeted about it, and tagged the project.
I followed and engaged with around 50-60 accounts from the NFT’s community and another 50 relevant accounts.
I also created a list of accounts I wanted to reply to, made sure I responded to every comment on my RooTroop tweet and followed each person who interacted.
So far, I have 30 followers and 2,000 impressions, and I spoke to 5 people in DMs, getting tips about web3 and Twitter.
I have a different strategy to get to 100 followers, though. But that will be in next week’s edition.

Small Thoughts
I recently launched my agency to provide growth coaching and ghostwriting services. I was pretty nervous, comparing myself to Dan Koe or JK Molina with 100k+ accounts.
But I took the plunge and bet on myself. One month later, I had three clients and three warm leads. I’ve made close to $4,500 and could double that pretty quickly.
Making a living off Twitter doesn’t require you to have a vast audience.
It requires a system.
It’s about acquiring clients, selling a course, creating a paid community, getting newsletter sponsors, or whatever you want with a true purpose.
I thought I had to grow to 20,000 followers before this could be possible. But I was wrong. You must create an irresistible offer and promote it to the right people.
Only my limiting beliefs restricted me from understanding this. Follower count isn’t the primary objective. It’s obviously great, but it will result from everything else. And in the meantime, you can create opportunities for yourself.
I am excited to share this journey with you over the next few months and hopefully make it enjoyable so you can take my learnings home.
