One tweet made me $4,000?
I almost didn't post it...
Read time: 4 minutes.
GM thinkers! I hope you’re gearing up for this week. There’s so much to do and so little time.
Before starting my ghostwriting journey, I was employed. I didn’t have much to share from a business journey perspective. That’s why I recently decided to share some milestones on X to 1.) inspire my audience and 2.) sell myself to see if I could attract any leads.
Oh boy, what a ride it’s been. I’ve had my highest ROI tweet of all time, and so many great things happened on the back of it.
Content
My highest ROI tweet of all time.
1-1,000 followers in 30 days challenge
I “fired” a client
My highest ROI tweet of all time.
This tweet could be worth over $4,000.
I launched my ghostwriting business 45 days ago.
I have since:
- Onboarded 3 new clients
- Scaled to $4,500/mo
- Received 8 leadsAnd the best part:
- 3 hot leads likely to close
- Increased my rates by 100%
- Finally creating the life I wantedAll this with 6,000 followers.

Sometimes, we feel shy and think we shouldn’t sell ourselves on social media. It’s easy to think others are doing more or that people might think you’re just showing off.
Last week, I published the above tweet on the back of a call with a friend. We talked about our businesses, and I realised I had done something decent in under two months of launching my business. It was worth sharing.
As the call ended, I hopped on X and typed this tweet in under a minute. I used one of my templates (Download them for free on my Gumroad page) to find a format that worked and scheduled it for the same day.
The results?
15+ DM
1 interview
4 coaching enquiries
2 ghostwriting enquiries
Total potential value = Over $4,000. Not including anything that could come from the interview once it’s released.
The reason I'm telling you all this? I was hesitant about posting this tweet. Ultimately, I got real business out of it—4 discovery calls booked out of it and some ongoing talk.
The moral of the story is to sell yourself. If you don’t do it, nobody else will.
One last thing I wanted to add regarding the engagement. This one tweet generated 865 profile clicks and 150+ followers as well. It’s just the bonus for the ego, and I’ll take that any day of the week.
1-1,000 followers in 30 days challenge
This week has been challenging, and I’m going to be honest with you, I’ve been overwhelmed.
I’ve done nothing for this challenge, setting me back one week out of 4. I only have 11 days to grow another 600 followers.
It won’t be easy, but I still hope to do it. I’m going to have to 10x my content strategy. So, what can I do to get the challenge back on track? Here’s the new plan.
5 threads for the next 11 days, every 2 days
100 high-quality replies per day
100 GM replies per day
10 DM per day
I’ve given myself a much harder challenge than needed, but we are where we are. I’m not perfect, but I will own this fully. I’ve f*cked up.
I fired my 1st client.
I remember being on a call with my first prospective client. I was sweating. I just wanted to get a confirmation, a start date, and agree on a price.
I agreed to produce his weekly content and manage all the daily engagement (replies + replying to others’ content). For $1,500/mo.
Now, I charge $2,500/mo for the same service. So, what should I do? Can I grind and keep this client while looking for new ones? Absolutely. But he’s no longer my ideal client.
I would rather spend that time looking for a new “ideal client” or spend more time on my brand, which will generate new leads.
That’s why I’ve notified this client that I’ll stop producing his content soon and referred him to a few ghostwriter friends to take over.
My goal isn’t to work 7 days a week. I want to build a life where I can have time to create my content, see my wife, take my dog out, etc. And make $10k/mo.
If a client takes too much time, ask yourself if the ROI is still acceptable. You can only take a certain amount of clients; that’s your horizontal scaling.
It’s essential to also focus on earning more per client, the vertical scaling, which will be the best way to scale and keep a life.
Thanks for reading this week’s edition.
I’d love to hear any feedback and a specific topic you want me to discuss next week.
