X is Dead. It's opportunity time!
Time to adapt.
Happy Friday Thinkers. The last time I wrote this newsletter, I said I’d send it on Sundays. It turns out it’s not a great day to send you emails. The open rate was diabolical. I will try Fridays for a few weeks and see how it goes. It’s still an experiment, and I don’t have all the answers, so trial and error is part of the game.

X sucks, but it might be an opportunity!
Yes, X algo changes suck. Views are down badly, influencers are “rebranding”, and Elon doesn’t care about you.
So what?
I don’t have the answer (yet), but I still have a plan. How? Because I already know what doesn’t work, and that’s half the battle. In his latest newsletter, Alex Is Building said something interesting (read his newsletter here). He tweeted 70 x to test the algo and see if it would give him a notable boost.
The result? It did not.
Most of my friends are trying new things, and I’m observing. My strategy remains unchanged, and I think you should do the same. Stop worrying about the algo, and focus on GREAT content.
I think the changes are actually a net positive for us. Think about it. We're all levelled up if we all struggle to get 10k views on a thread. It’s an even playing field.
I also don’t believe this situation is going to last forever. Otherwise, we’ll see an exodus from the platform, and that’s not viable for X. They have to fix this quickly.
On the other hand, this is now becoming a land of opportunities. Less competition means more potential deals per person. Brands have invested heavily in Web3 over the last 18 months, and they won’t stop everything because views are down.
3 of my friends received brand deals this week in the multiple 4 figure digits. Great creators are becoming rare, and brands will need great creators, but the prices will increase if there aren’t that many. It’s simple math.
My business is growing.
I’ve just onboarded a new client, Yay! If you remember, 2 editions ago, I said I fired my first client. That means I’ve replaced it with a better gig: Same money, but less work. No brainer!
I’ve also got 2 new hot leads and a recommendation for copywriting work for one of the biggest NFT marketplaces.
Despite X being down, I’ve gotten more leads in the past 2 weeks than ever. And that makes sense. As growing on X is becoming increasingly challenging, more people and businesses will want to outsource the pain.
That’s where I step in. I can’t promise a million views or 10,000 followers by next week, but I can deliver quality work and alleviate the pain of creating great content for my client.
I also have something for those who are still reading.
I might have a gig for you if you are starting your ghostwriting journey. Reply to this email with a little bit about you and your content. Someone asked me to do some ghostwriting, but it’s a little below my current rate; however, I promised that person I’d send him some good people from my network.
The gig is about ghostwriting for Web3 businesses, so it’s fairly straightforward. Hit me up if that sounds like something you’d want to check.
Thanks for reading this week’s edition.
I’d love to hear any feedback and a specific topic you want me to discuss next week.
